Is my data public or private?
The extractors you create on import.io are private, they are not visible to other users and they do not appear in other users’ searches. You can, however, share your extractors and collaborate with other users on cool projects by sending them the Extractor ID.
How often can I refresh my data?
You can schedule your extractor to run at any specific time, for more information regarding this please view the scheduling your extractor section.
Can I get data from behind a login?
Users subscribed to one of our premium plans can extract data from behind a login using Authenticated Extractors. For more information about this feature please visit the getting data from behind a login section.
What if the website changes after I have created an extractor for it?
Import.io is self-healing. This means that if there are any small changes to the website, we will automatically fix it, and you will continue to get data. If the website undergoes a complete design overhaul you may need to go back and retrain your extractor to get the data you want.
What is a GUID?
GUID stands for ‘Globally Unique Identifier’. These are important particularly if you are familiar with using APIs, as these codes are used to represent your extractors when used programmatically. Your extractor GUID can be seen in the URL bar when you are on the Dashboard. You can share the GUID if you want someone to look at your extractor.
